Isagi and Rin, the double aces of Japan, fight for their own goal.
In the previous chapter of Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s Blue Lock manga, we saw Isagi and Rin deciding to try a new plan. In the recent issue, we saw the dual aces of Blue Lock prepare a counter all by themselves while their other teammates also kept trying for their own goals. With so many people attacking them at the same time, the Nigerian team was left in shambles trying to defend the score.

Blue Lock Chapter 320 recap

The chapter begins with a flashback of Isagi talking in the dressing room during the break. He says instead of building up with everyone like before to build a counter, he and Rin will pass back and forth and tear up the center of the field. In the present, we see the dual aces do just that as the Nigerian team scrambles to keep up. During the play, Rin remembers a memory from some time ago when Ego had sent him for the special training.
He went to a temple, where a priest taught him to meditate and completely empty his mind. But whenever he thought about the void, his mind was filled with images of Isagi and Sae, his rival and his older brother. His teacher scolded him and told him to get rid of these worthless impediments so he can find his true essential mind. At first, Rin thought it was impossible as he wouldn’t be who he was without these two. But as he trained further, he discovered that beyond the impulse of wanting to destroy Isagi and Sae, there’s a deeper Ego that wants him to destroy himself while scoring a goal.

Rin passes the ball to Bachira, and Jinpachi Ego urges these strikers to hunt down their prey as heroic hunters. Bachira’s shot is stopped by a Nigerian player, but Hiori immediately attacks next. When that’s also rebuked, Chigiri shoots his shot, and Onazi is barely able to stop it. The ball goes up in the sky and Rin realises that labels like ‘brother’, ‘rival’, and ‘world’s best’ are just impediments that he needs to destroy to make his hunger for self destruction his default setting. Bachira gets the ball and realises that Rin has entered beast mode.
Onazi realises that even though they were co-operating during the buildup, Isagi and Rin, along with the whole Blue Lock team are now trying for their own goals. Bachira makes an impressive pinpoint pass close to the goal post and Rin and Isagi both head for it. Isagi thinks he’ll reach it first based on the ball’s trajectory. But Rin says that if Isagi uses logic to turn himself into a tool for victory, then he will give himself up to the pleasure and the adrenaline of the game. In the end, Rin surpasses Isagi for a split second and shoots the ball into their opponent's goal. Isagi jokingly calls him a freak and Rin answers that he has cleared his impediments.
Blue Lock Chapter 320 review

Even though he is younger than most players in Blue Lock and the U-20 World Cup, it’s amazing to see how much Rin has improved. Although he lost to Isagi’s team in the NEL finals, he was placed first in the Blue Lock player ranking due to his incredible talent. In the latest chapter, we see that the genius has already gone through another evolution and gotten rid of unnecessary thoughts of jealousy and rivalry to focus solely on himself and his own goal. In the last moment, he was able to surpass Isagi and steal his goal, making the score 3-0 in Japan’s favour. What will Isagi do next?
