The new manga will connect Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection and Roze of the Recapture.
Kadokawa has launched a new Code Geass manga that is set to connect the last Code Geass movie, Lelouch of the Re;surrection, with the latest anime installment of the franchise, Roze of the Recapture. The manga, titled Code Geass: Pure Almaria has released a first chapter in the official Kadokawa ComicWalker site.
The manga is illustrated by Atsushi Soga, who worked on the art for Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED Eclipse, Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch Gaiden: Shiro no Kishi Kurenai no Yasha, as well as .hack//Quantum I. The scenario is being written by Fumiya Nagatsuki.
Kojiro Taniguchi, known for his work as a producer in Sunrise and being a staff member in Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, as well as Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, is in charge of the series of composition. Sunrise is in charge of planning, and Bandai Spirits and Hobby Japan are also credited for their cooperation.
Code Geass: Pure Almaria is set after Zero and Nunnally were kidnapped by the Kingdom of Zilkhstan. In a machine translation of the official description, the manga will feature the country of Kyrgyzstan, a large-scale armed conflict between government and citizens, as well as a mysterious new Knightmare frame that will “tear apart the peace of the world.”
