Loid tails the Authen couple to see if they’re hiding something.
The latest chapter of Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family manga mostly focused on Anya and her new adventure with her friends. After a classmate tells her about the haunted old building of the school, Anya decides to go there no matter what. Seeing her determination, all her friends, including Betty and Damian, are forced to follow. However, what they find there might lead to something sinister.

Spy x Family Chapter 123-1 recap
The chapter begins with Anya leaving for school just as the Authens get out of their apartment. They greet Anya, and while reading their thoughts, she decides that they’re truly harmless.
However, Loid isn’t so sure and he follows them, but finds nothing suspicious. He wishes they’re innocent and says he would like to believe they really are.
At school, one of Anya’s classmates called Connie, says that the old school building at the Eden Academy is haunted by the ghosts of some students who tried to summon the devil to become smarter, but got killed instead.
Anya gets excited about the prospect of seeing a ghost and says she wants to go. The prince from the neighborhood kingdom and another boy, whose father is a spiritual medium, decide to go with them. Later, Anya tells Becky about it and she is creeped out by it and refuses to go. Damian overhears their conversation and decides that he will go too, as he doesn’t want Anya to be alone with the prince.
After school, they all go to the ominous old building, and other than Anya, everyone is scared and wants to go home. However, when she excitedly runs inside, they can’t help but follow her. The inside is even more dark and dangerous than the outside, and Anya says she will catch ghosts with her net. The ominous sounds around them are scary, and Connie brings out a cross and a skull to ward off the ghosts. She charges towards the place where the sound came from and Anya follows. However, instead of a ghost, they find a single shoe on the staircase, which seems to have belonged to a schoolgirl.
Spy x Family Chapter 123-1 review
Who wants to bet that the shoe they found has something to do with Becky? I really hoped after such a big reveal about Sigmund Authen knowing about the experiments conducted on Anya, that there would be some more plot development. However, it seems Spy x Family is going back to its regularly-scheduled filler chapters. Hopefully, we’ll soon learn more about the experiments, and also see where Yor’s feelings for Loid lead her. For now, we can only wait to see what Anya does in the haunted building.
