After running for almost 7 years, the manga has finally published its last chapter.
The final chapter of the Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway manga was just released. The manga adaptation is by Imaru Adachi, based on the popular rom-com novel series of the same name written by Shimesaba and illustrated by booota. The final chapter of the manga was published in the March issue of Shōnen Ace magazine by Kadokawa. The 13th and final volume of the manga will be shipped on March 26, 2025.
The story revolves around a 26-year-old office worker called Yoshida, who has a massive crush on a co-worker. But after being rejected by her, he drowns his sorrows in alcohol with another colleague. While returning home, Yoshida finds a runaway high-school girl named Sayu Ogiwara, who asks to stay in his house in exchange for sexual favours. Yoshida doesn’t take any favours but lets her stay for the night. In the morning, when Sayu tells her about how she sleeps with men in exchange for a place to live, he takes pity on her and allows her to live with him while she works in a store. The story progresses as the two start coming closer and learning more about each other.
The light novel series was serialised from March 2017 to August 2018 on Kadokawa’s Kakuyomu website and was later published by Kadokawa Shoten. The anime adaptation by Imaru Adachi started serialising in the Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine by Kadokawa Shoten in November 2018. After a successful run, the manga finally comes to an end in this year’s March issue. The first season of the anime adaptation of Higehiro was released back in 2021. Unfortunately, we don’t have any news about a second season as of yet.
