Previously, two other spin-off novels of the manga were released in 2022 and 2023.
There is some great news waiting for Undead Unluck fans, who are understandably heartbroken after the manga ended last month. A new spin-off novel has been announced by Shueisha. The book, titled, Hiteishatachi no Aoharu na Kōkō Seikatsu (The Youthful High School Life of the Negators) is set to come out on April 4, 2025, in Japan. Hopefully, the English-translated version of the novel will also be published soon.
As per the reveal, the story of this novel will take place in an alternate world in a high school. Fuuko, the protagonist who is a high-school student, will be preparing for the upcoming school festival. However, she will run into some problems involving the other characters soon. In 2022 and 2023, Yoshifumi Tozuka’s manga received two other novel spin-offs in 2022 and 2023. Much like the previous novels, the upcoming book will also be written by Sawako Hirabayashi, as announced by the official website of Shueisha.
Tozuka’s popular manga Undead Unluck started serialising in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in January 2020. On January 27, 2025, the 239th and final chapter of the series was published, putting an end to this beloved manga. However, Undead Unluck fans have a lot to look forward to. Not only is the anime adaptation coming back with a second season, but a one-hour animated special has also been announced. Tozuka is writing the story for the special and will also create a brand new UMA character for it. You can read the Undead Unluck manga right now on the Viz Media and Manga Plus websites, as well as on the Manga Plus mobile app. You can watch the anime adaptation on Hulu and Disney Hotstar.
