Blue Orchestra’s long-awaited second season is set to air Fall 2025.
Based on the manga by Makoto Akui, Blue Orchestra's anime continues where the story left off with an upcoming Season 2, slated for release in Fall 2025. No exact date has been revealed as of yet.
Blue Orchestra Season 2 has also been revealed to contain 21 episodes, and will be broadcast on NHK Educational TV. A visual has also been revealed, as per a report from Comic Natalie.
The first season aired from April to October 2023 with 24 episodes in total, and was produced by Nippon Animation. The series was directed by Seiji Kishi, with Yuko Kakihara as scriptwriter. Kazuaki Morita did the character designs, while the violin performances for main character Hajime Aono were done by Ryota Higashi. The second season was announced right after season 1 concluded, but no news was revealed until now.
It is unknown whether the original voice cast, director, or staff will return for season 2, although we can expect new information in the coming days. The main voice cast for season 1 were:
- Kakuma Ai as Ritsuko Akine
- Shouya Chiba as Hajime Aono
- Shinba Tsuchiya as Saeki Nao
- Minako Satou as Haru Kozakura
- Makoto Furukawa as Yamada Ichiro
The official synopsis of Blue Orchestra is as follows:
Once a prize-winning violin prodigy, Hajime gave up on music after his father, professional violinist Ryuuji Aono, was involved in a scandal that led the media to harass his family. Now living alone with his mother and entering his final year of middle school, Hajime struggles to find a new career path. However, the sound of his classmate Ritsuko Akine playing the violin inspires Hajime to dream of a musical career once more.
With the help of Ritsuko, Hajime prepares to take the entrance exam for the prestigious Umimaku High School. But if he wishes to join Umimaku's orchestra, Hajime must overcome his past trauma and open himself up to new musical horizons.
