"My Dress-Up Darling" Season 2 brings additional cast, theme song details, and more in new trailer

A new key visual of Marin and Wakana have also been released.

The Summer of Romance is upon us as My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 is hitting the screens on 5 July, 2025 at 11 PM SGT (6 July, 2025 at 12 AM JST). Ahead of the release, the anime announced two new cast members, as well as this season’s theme songs in a final trailer. Additionally, an adorable new illustration of Marin Kitagawa and Wakana Gojo have also been released.

The two voice actors who have joined the project for season 2 are:

  • Himeno Amane voiced by Ayumu Murase (Shoyo Hinata in Haikyu!!, Ginro in Dr. Stone)
  • Shiki Kashiwagi voiced by Shohei Komatsu (Land in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, August von Earlshide in Kenja no Mago)

The returning cast of the series includes:

  • Wakana Gojo voiced by Shōya Ishige
  • Marin Kitagawa voiced by Hina Suguta
  • Sajuna Inui voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki
  • Shinju Inui voiced by Hina Yōmiya
  • Kaoru Gojo voiced by Atsushi Ono
  • Nowa Sugaya voiced by Larissa Tago Takeda
  • Liz voiced by Misaki Kuno
  • Mirai Tengeji voiced by Sakura Tange
  • Rune voiced by Akira Sekine
  • Kaname voiced by Yusuke Shirai

The new trailer of the anime previews the opening theme song ‘Ao to Kirameki’ performed by Spira Spica. It also includes the ending theme song ‘Kawaii Kaiwai’ performed by PiKi, which is also their debut song.

The main staff is returning for the second season with Keisuke Shonohara directing the anime at CloverWorks. Yoriko Tomita is in charge of series composition while Kazumasa Ishida designs the characters. Takeshi Nakatsuka is composing the music. Other staff members include:

The anime series is based on Shinichi Fukuda’s popular manga of the same name. Crunchyroll streams the first season of the anime and describes the story as:

Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi--a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls. Though he's gung-ho about the craft, he knows nothing about the latest trends, and has a hard time fitting in with his class. The popular kids--especially one girl, Marin Kitagawa--seem like they live in a completely different world.
