Animation studio P.A. Works is releasing a new original anime set in an apocalyptic future.
An official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for an original anime made by P.A. Works went live last Friday, 27 June, revealing a main cast, staff, teaser, visual, and teaser promo. The original project, titled ‘Towa no Yuugure’, is set for a Fall 2025 debut in October, although no exact date has been revealed as of yet.
Towa no Yuugure information and more revealed
The original anime has yet to announce a formal English title, although it has revealed its main cast of characters:
- Shuiichiro Umeda as Akira Himegami
- Yui Ishikawa as Yuugure
- Ai Kayano as Towasa Oumaki
Naokatsu Tsuda of ‘Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure’ fame is helming the series as director, with Midori Tayama credited as original character designer. The character designs that will be featured in the anime is done by Yoshiko Saitou, who also worked on ‘Mushoku Tensei Season 2’. Masahiro Tokuda is handling the music.
The website officially describes the story for Towa no Yuugure as:
When highschooler Akira Himegami awakens from a cryogenic sleep, he finds himself in a world he no longer recognizes.
A city devastated by war, a country in ruins, and the people are now managed by a unified organisation called OWEL.Traditional marriage has also been replaced by a new system called “ELSIE”.
As Akira struggles to comprehend this new future, a familiar figure bearing a strong resemblance to his girlfriend, Towasa. This figure is an android named Yuugure, who smiles gently and asks “Akira...please marry me.”
Though confused by the sudden proposal from the android, Akira agrees to travel with Yuugure, holding out hope that somewhere in this new world, Towasa is still alive.
