Fairouz Ai, known for her role as Jolyne Cujoh in Jojo's Bizzare Adventure and Hibiki Sakura in How Heavy Are The Dumbbells You Lift?, and her agency, Raccoon Dog, announced that the voice actress will be limiting activity due to her recent Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) diagnosis.
Fairouz's diagnosis was given to her a few months into 2024, however she chose to push forward with her projects as she had wanted to live up to the expectations and support that she had received. But with this announcement, Fairouz has acknowledged that the best thing to do is to focus on her treatment for what will hopefully be a speedy recovery.
Fairouz requested her fans and audience to refrain from prying or speculating about the cause of her PTSD, as it is a private matter. Lastly, Fairouz admitted that she is regretful for causing concern and inconvenience to her beloved characters and series, the production staff, and her fans, promising to work hard to recover herself.
It is unknown just how much her activities have been reduced by, as several anime projects in 2025 has slated Fairouz in their cast list. OKITSURA and I'm Living with an Otaku NEET Kunoichi!? listed her as their main cast, and both will be broadcasted in Winter 2025. She will also return as Power for Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc. While the cast hasn't been announced yet, the second season of Kaiju No.8 is also due in 2025, and if no change happens, Fairouz Ai will likely reprise her role as Kikoru Shinomiya.
