Before we dive into the second season, here's everything you need to know about Season 2.
Only a few days remain until we dive back into Sung Jinwoo’s journey to unparalleled strength in Season 2 of Solo Leveling!
The official Solo Leveling Season 2 trailer, released two weeks ago in December, gave us an exciting preview of some intense moments and battles lined up for the second season.
With the first episode almost here, let’s break down everything you need to know about Solo Leveling Season 2.
When will Season 2 debut?
Episode 1 of Solo Leveling premiers on Sunday (January 5) at 00:00 Japan Standard Time (JST) or Saturday (January 4) 11:00 Singapore Time (SGT) with a new episode set to air weekly.
The highly anticipated sequel will have 13 episodes, continuing the weekly release format established in the previous season.
The opening song for the upcoming season is titled ReawakeR and will feature Japanese singer LiSa and Felix of Stray Kids, while the closing song is "Un-Apex" by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure. The song was announced in the season 2 trailer.
What happened in Season 1?
Season 1 focused on Sung Jinwoo’s journey from being called “The Weakest Hunter of All” to becoming the sole individual capable of secretly leveling up his abilities.
In the finale, Jinwoo has emerged stronger than ever, now equipped with an array of new powers and abilities granted by the System after completing quests, rigorous daily training, and other challenging requirements imposed by the System.
The season adapted approximately four chapters per episode, wrapping up with the Job Change Arc, and making it until Chapter 45 of the Webtoon.
What can we expect in Season 2?
In the second season, Jinwoo has risen to become a powerful necromancer, commanding an army of devoted shadows. However, he must hone these abilities in secret, concealing them from other hunters while battling against time to save his mother. Confronting the most formidable enemies, Jinwoo pushes himself to the brink, unveiling the true scope of his newfound power.
The new Official Season 2 trailer features Jinwoo beginning to draw the attention of the strongest hunters, and eventually the entire world. It also showed us a few glimpses of the upcoming Demon Castle Arc.
Season 2 is expected to adapt several major arcs, beginning with the most-anticipated Red Gate Arc (Chapter 46), which was featured in an earlier teaser released in August 2024.
The Red Gate Arc, also highlighted in one of Solo Leveling’s posters, follows Sung Jinwoo as he joins the White Tiger Guild and trains alongside its younger recruits. Together, they face a new threat after becoming trapped in a Red Gate, a dungeon portal that cannot be reopened once entered.
And if the pacing mirrors Season 1, the new season may possibly conclude with Chapter 89 (Demon Castle Arc) or even delve into the earlier stages of the Jeju Island Arc.
Where can I watch Season 2?
Solo Leveling will be available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Prime Video, Aniplus, and Bilibili Global.
