The second cour of Let This Grieving Soul Retire is scheduled to air in October 2025.
The official social media account of Let This Grieving Soul Retire announced that cour two of the anime adaptation is scheduled for October 2025 release. The announcement was accompanied by a new “super” teaser trailer on the same account. The trailer featured both main characters, Krai and Tino.
The anime will continue the story of Krai Andrey, the leader of Grieving Souls, a top hunter party, who is thought to be the strongest of the party. However, in reality, Krai has no special talents, and his achievements are the works of his overpowered friend. Krai has repeatedly wanted to retire out of fear that his lack of skills will cause his friend's downfall.

Let This Grieving Soul Retire, or as it's known by its full name, Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Woe is the Weakling Who Leads the Strongest Party was a web novel written by Tsukikage. The story has also been adapted into a light novel with Chyko as the artist. The light novel has been in publication since 2018 and is still ongoing, compiled into 12 volumes so far.
Let This Grieving Soul Retire has also been adapted into manga and published inside Dengeki Comics NEXT under ASCII Media Works. So far, the manga has been compiled into 10 volumes.
The anime adaptation of Let This Grieving Soul Retire's first season, aired in October 2024 with 13 episodes. Zero-G is the studio behind the adaptation, and Masahiro Tanaka is the director. Season 2 of the anime will air in October 2025.
