On day two of Anime Japan 2025, people finally received a much-awaited update for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. It was revealed that the compilation movie for the Hidden Inventory and Premature Death arcs from the second season of the series will premiere in Japan on 30 May, 2025. A new trailer for the film was also unveiled.
Jujutsu Kaisen Hidden Inventory/ Premature Death arc movie details
The trailer revealed glimpses from the film, which were accompanied by the theme song, the acoustic version of ‘Where Our Blue Is’ by Tatsuya Kitani. The movie will include scenes from the second season of the anime, which already covered the two arcs. It will delve deep into the past of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, and what finally pushed Geto to leave the sorcerers’ world. MAPPA is producing the movie, much like the anime series.
The anime is based on Gege Akutami’s manga of the same name, which serialised in the Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from March 2018 to September 2024. Fans have been waiting for more updates from the anime ever since the manga ended last year. The first season of the anime came out in 2020, with the second following in 2023. An anime movie based on the prequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0 came out in December 2021. A third season, adapting the Culling Game arc of the manga, is currently under production. Unfortunately, no news about its possible release date of season 3 has been revealed yet.
