The devil uses humans as shields to try and hurt Denji.
The latest chapter of the Chainsaw Man manga was brutal to say the least. The Fakesaw Man still has humans attached to him, and every time he tries to hit Denji, they get hurt. One of them tries to help him kill the devil, but Denji ends up failing. Yoru tries to get Chainsaw Man out of his slump, but a timely move from the Falling Devil puts them in danger again.

The issue begins with the fake Chainsaw Man trying to hit Denji. His arms and legs are still reinforced by the various humans he fused into his own body. So every time Denji dodges one of his punches, it lands on the floor or the building, causing immense pain to all the humans. They start begging Chainsaw Man to pull them out and save them, but Denji has no idea how to do it. One of the fused humans tells Denji to aim for the devil’s heart, and maybe that way he will die and they can live. Denji tries to follow his advice, and after dodging the next hit, aims straight at his heart. Unfortunately, the Fakesaw Man reinforced his heart with another human. The man screams at Denji to not kill him, causing the protagonist to lose balance. With the devil’s next punch, Denji ends up breaking through one of the surrounding buildings and lands inside.
As Denji tries to get up, Yoru enters the building through the hole he left behind. She tells him that he can’t win if he feels sorry for the fused humans. Denji says that if they’re dead, there will be fewer people who like him, and he doesn’t want that. Yoru reminds him that he will be forgotten even if he saves them, much like how everyone forgot Asa. She then asks if he needs a hand. However, before Denji can answer, the whole building starts to shake and they fall to the ground. We see that the building has been ripped in half by the Falling Devil. She tells the humans to be afraid and become ingredients. As she throws the building down, all the people standing on the ground start to panic. Even the Famine Devil is terrified of this display.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 203 review
Fujimoto’s talent of crafting the most loathsome monsters is truly impeccable. It was both frustrating and sad to see Denji avoiding all the hits because he didn’t want to harm the humans. But what’s more pathetic is how they still got hurt after hitting solid surfaces. Unfortunately, Yoru is right and Denji is in a lose-lose situation right now. The correct move would be to kill the fake Chainsaw Man by attacking his heart, and give the other humans a chance to survive. However, now that Falling Devil is literally throwing a whole building onto a crowd, Denji has bigger things to worry about.
