"One Punch Man" manga goes on two-month hiatus

The series is scheduled to return in July. 

The popular shounen series One Punch Man is going on break! The news was announced through the X (formerly Twitter) account of the manga artist Yusuke Murata, who stated that due to “various circumstances” the next update for the manga will instead be released on 17 July. 

The full statement, through a machine translation, reads:

“Sorry for keeping you waiting. Due to various circumstances, the next update for the “Tona Jump” version of One Punch Man will be released on Thursday, July 17th. We apologise for the inconvenience, but please wait a little longer.” 

One Punch Man is currently being serialised in Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump, and has been since 2012 as a digital remake to the 2009 webcomic of the same name by One. The series currently has 22 tankobon volumes, with Viz Media licensing and publishing an English version both for physical print and through its Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine. 

One Punch Man Season 3 to broadcast in October 2025

On the other hand, the anime adaptation for One Punch Man is gearing for an October 2025 comeback, although the exact broadcast date is yet to be announced. The series is returning with a third season, six years after Season 2 released in 2019. 

One Punch Man Season 3 will once again be produced by studio J.C. Staff. Chikara Sakurai will be reprising his role as the director of the series, while Yoshikazu Iwanami remains as the sound director. Tomohiro Suzuki, is the series composer, Chikashi Kubota is the character designer, and Makoto Miyazaki will be serving as the music composer.

The voice actors who featured in previous seasons will also return to reprise their roles:

The official website for One Punch Man describes the story as:

Saitama is a man who started being a hero as a hobby.

After three years of intensive training, he gained the invincible power to defeat any enemy with a single blow. He joined the Hero Association, an organization for professional heroes, and works daily with Genos, who becomes his apprentice through a strange turn of events.

One day, monsters calling themselves the Monster Association suddenly appear, and take the child of a Hero Association executive hostage.

S-class heroes gather together and devise a plan to infiltrate the Monster Association's hideout to rescue the hostage.

Meanwhile, Garou, a "human monster" who was kidnapped by the Monster Association during a battle with the heroes, wakes up in the hideout.
