Vamola is barely able to save the plane from crashing.
The Dandadan manga is the gift that keeps on giving! After showing multiple sharks flying around in the sky along with a huge nose, mouth, and ear, the series finally delves deeper into the phenomena in the latest issue. Vamola plugs up one of the massive holes in the plane left by the sharknado and Seiko comes up with a plan to counter this weird cryptid that endangers their lives.

Jiji reveals to everyone that the cause of the plane disturbance is a typhoon. But it’s not just any other storm, it’s a storm with flying sharks. Vamola immediately goes to a window to see it and Zuma is frustrated because he can’t. Suddenly, one of the sharks breaks through the side of the plane, causing a massive hole to appear. Seiko tells everyone to grab onto something as the air pressure from the hole causes them to fly everywhere. Momo tries to tell Vamola to get bigger and plug the hole, but she can’t hear her. Jiji recites what Momo told Vamola and the alien girl uses her suit to plug up the hole. Thankfully, everyone drops to the floor of the plane unharmed. But they notice that there are frozen sharks stuck in the plane walls with half of their bodies inside.
Seiko tells everyone to sit down and put their seatbelts on as the turbulence might happen again. Vamola says she’s okay but the sharks outside are biting her. Due to the frozen sharks and the cold temperature outside, everyone starts to feel an intense cold. Thankfully, Seiko can finally see Momo again. The grandmother thinks the medicines dulled her senses, and that’s why she couldn't see her. However, Momo’s presence is still decreasing. Seiko wonders why there’s a tornado when it’s not summer, and Momo says maybe the God of Shimane is refusing them. But Seiko says that the benevolent God would never do such a thing. After noticing the nose and the mouth floating in air, Momo suggests that maybe it’s the Typhoon Human.

Momo explains that a Typhoon Human is a cryptid that Okarun told her about. A cryptologist called Professor Nakazawa first said that typhoons are living organisms after many eye witnesses talked about seeing floating ears, noses, and mouths inside storms. Before, the Serpo aliens attacked them with the Loch Ness monster, and this might be another similar play. Momo is surprised when the plane starts to circle around as she didn’t think the sharknado will affect people outside of Empty Space. Jiji suggests maybe they should wait out the storm. But Seiko says it’s not possible because if they lose this chance, they might not get another until next year.
This is a problem because Seiko thinks Momo’s presence won’t last until next year and she will disappear from everyone's memories. She then suggests that they have to fight the typhoon and go through it just like they do with the other enemies. Momo asks what her plan is. Seiko explains that typhoons are caused by warm ocean water and the water vapour it generates. In a way, the ocean water is the engine of the typhoon while the vapour is its fuel. If they can stop either of them, they can take down the cryptid Typhoon Man. And it seems that Seiko already has a plan in place.

Bringing in the Typhoon Man cryptid, which is one of the modern supernatural lores in Japan, is a signature Yukinobu Tatsu move. I’m glad that Momo remembers all of Okarun’s rambles about all kinds of aliens and cryptids, which might be the key to getting them out of this situation. I’m incredibly happy to see that Seiko has not forgotten Momo, although she’s very close. The group will now likely work together to stop the weird Sharknado and make sure they reach the Izumo-Taisha shrine in Shimane. But we can’t forget that the Kito family is still in the plane, hungry for revenge. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings us. Okarun will surely be jealous of Momo and the others when he learns about their sighting of a rare cryptid.
