Viz Media secures rights for "One-Punch Man" Season 3 across multiple territories

The series is coming out this October.

One-Punch Man Season 3 is one of 2025’s most-awaited anime titles, and it’s coming out this October. Although a release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, we learned that Viz Media has acquired the exclusive rights for it across multiple territories. And it covers more than just streaming.

One-Punch Man Season 3 licences have been secured by Viz Media

According to the report by Variety, the new deal encompasses “theatrical, television, digital, home entertainment, ancillary and merchandise rights across North America, Latin America and Oceania.” This means the third season of One-Punch Man will be streamed by Viz in these territories. Unfortunately, Viz Media hasn’t spoken about any streaming details as of yet.

The One-Punch Man series is based on the manga series by One, which was later redrawn by Yusuke Murata. The first season of the anime came out in 2015 and was produced by Madhouse. J.C. Staff took over production for the second season in 2019. Unfortunately, fans noticed a severe drop in quality and were not happy with season 2. This time around, J.C. Staff wants to make sure fans are happy with their favourite anime adaptation. Chikara Sakurai is returning to direct the third season. So far a trailer and some character visuals have been released for season 3.

Viz Media also licenses the manga series, and describes the story as:

“Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!”
