The fantasy romance novel series The Ogre’s Bride (Oni no Hanayome) by Kureha has finally received an anime adaptation. The official website and X (formerly Twitter) account of the series announced the news, along with a new key visual. However, not much else has been disclosed about the project.

The Ogre’s Bride anime production details

Unfortunately, other than the production confirmation, no other details have been revealed. We don’t know which studio is producing the anime adaptation or who might be cast in it. Only a key visual starring the two central characters of the series has been released.

The original light novel series is written by Kureha and illustrated by Yū Shiroya. According to the official website, the novel and its manga adaptation has sold over 5.8 million copies in total. Kureha released a statement through the official X account of the anime about the adaptation.

Two other illustrations have also been released, one by Yū Shiroya, the other by the manga adaptation’s artist Jun Togashi. The story of an Ogre’s Bride takes place in a world where demons and humans co-exist peacefully. The protagonist Yuzu is a normal high school girl who is often overshadowed by her older sister, who is engaged to a demon. However, things change when one day a handsome ogre she meets claims that Yuzu is his bride.
