The news was announced after the release of Season 1 Episode 11.

One of Spring 2025’s most controversial anime titles, The Beginning After the End, is coming back again next year. Crunchyroll released a sneak peek to the first season’s 12th episode after the latest issue aired that confirmed that the series will be back with a second season in 2026. It is speculated that the timeline will be next Spring, but no release date has been confirmed yet.

The Beginning After the End Season 2 details

As previously mentioned, Crunchyroll announced the anime’s return in a short video clip previewing The Beginning After the End Season 1 Episode 12. The first 11 episodes of the anime are airing on the platform right now with more on the way. Season 1 of the anime is listed with a total of 24 episodes, which means there’s much to go.

The cast of The Beginning After the End consists of:

  • Arthur voiced by Natsumi Fujiwara
  • Grey voiced by Makoto Furukawa
  • Tessia Eralith voiced by Kana Ichinose
  • Jasmine Flamesworth voiced by Chiaki Omigawa
  • Reynolds Leywin voiced by Yamato Kinjo
  • Alice Leywin voiced by Rena Maeda
  • Durden Walker voiced by Shinya Takahashi
  • Adam Krensh voiced by Taihi Kimura
  • Helen Shard voiced by Miyū Ogura
  • Angela Rose voiced by Riko Akechi
  • Sylvia voiced by Shiori Izawa

The anime is produced by Studio A-Cat, and started airing in April 2025. Keitaro Motonaga directs the project with Takamitsu Kano writing the scripts. Masami Sueoka designs the characters and Keiji Inai composes the music. Unfortunately, fans haven’t been too happy with the show’s animation quality, which means the studio will need to step up their game in Season 2.

The anime is based on Ta He Lee aka TurtleMe’s American web novel series of the same name illustrated by Fuyuki23. The same illustrator is also in charge of the webtoon adaptation. Both the web novel and the webtoon are published by Tapas. Yen Press also publishes the webtoon in English. Tapas describes the story as:

King Grey has unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability. However, solitude lingers closely behind those with great power. Beneath the glamorous exterior of a powerful king lurks the shell of man, devoid of purpose and will.

Reincarnated into a new world filled with magic and monsters, the king has a second chance to relive his life. Correcting the mistakes of his past will not be his only challenge, however. Underneath the peace and prosperity of the new world is an undercurrent threatening to destroy everything he has worked for, questioning his role and reason for being born again.
