The remake to the classic anime series is coming back to Netflix this October with Season 2!
Ranma ½’s Season 2 trailer was dropped by MAPPA on their official YouTube channel yesterday, 22 June, much to the excitement of fans. The trailer revealed new characters as well as an October release window, although no exact date has been confirmed yet.
Ranma ½ will once again be streaming Season 2 on Netflix, as with Season 1.
Ranma ½ Season 2 cast
As revealed in the trailer, the cast for Season 2 are:
- Toshihiko Seki as Mousse
- Kaori Nazuka as Ukyo Kuonji
- Ako Mayama as Cologne
- Kazuhiko Inoue as Happosai
- Akira Ishida as Hikaru Gosunkugi
While previous cast members are returning to reprise their roles:
- Kappei Yamaguchi as Ranma
- Noriko Hidaka as Akane Tendou
- Yamadera Kouichi as Ryouga Hibiki
- Rei Sakuma as Shampoo
- Minami Takayama as Nabiki Tendou
- Cho as Genma Saotome
- Tomokazu Sugita as Tatewaki Kunou
- Kikuko Inoue as Kasumi Tendou
- Akio Otsuka as Soun Tendou
- Ayane Sakura as Kodachi Kunou
There has been no confirmation on staff for this season, although MAPPA is once again animating the series with Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions as producer. We can expect more information about Season 2 in the future.
The anime is based on the original manga by Rumiko Takahashi, which ran from August 1987 to March 1996 at Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. The story is described in the official website as:
Ranma Saotome and the third daughter of Tendo Dojo, Akane Tendo,are engaged to be married by their parents, but Ranma has a problem. During his training in China, he fell into the legendary training ground "Jusenkyo". When poured with water, he becomes a woman, and when poured with hot water, he turns back into a man.
