Seven arcs is producing the Toi-san wa Seishun Shitai! Baka to Smartphone movie with Mankyu as director. Yoichi Kato writes the scripts while Akemi Kobayashi designs the characters. Hiromi Mizutani is in charge of music composition. The movie is based on the collection of short videos that Strawberry Prince member Jel started to post on Twitter back in 2019, before spreading to TikTok and YouTube. The funny animated shorts focus on Akane Toi, known by her classmates as Toi-san. She was expecting a normal high school experience but it changes when she’s confronted by a handsome and eccentric boy named Jel. Instead of the romance she’d hoped for, Jel and her other classmates engage in wacky and funny shenanigans. At Jel’s insistence, Toi-san joins the Youth Romance Club in this parody of Otome games.
