“The Dangers in My Heart” movie sets theatrical release for February 2026

The movie is a re-edit for the title’s second season, but will also feature new scenes.

The hit rom-com anime “The Dangers in My Heart” (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu, shortened to BokuYaba) is set to release a theatrical re-edit of the show’s second season. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the series confirmed that it’s set to premiere in Japanese theatres on 13 February, 2026. No further information regarding a global release has been divulged.

The news was paired with a new teaser visual and promotional video, and confirms that new scenes not included in Season 2 will be added to the movie’s still unconfirmed runtime, and hints that new drama between Ichikawa and Yamada is about to unfold.

Still no news for Season 3 of “The Dangers in My Heart”

Although a new movie is coming along for BokuYaba, the anime is yet to confirm a Season 3. Season 2 aired from January to March 2024, and was directed by Hiroaki Akagi at Shin-Ei Animation, with Jukki Hanada handling scripts and series composition, and music composed by Kensuke Ushio. The staff for Season 2 originally worked on the first season for BokuYaba, which aired from April to June 2023.

The anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Norio Sakurai, and is currently still ongoing with 12 tankobon volumes.

The official website for the BokuYaba movie describes the story as:

Kyotaro Ichikawa is a boy with a complex about his middle school syndrome who loves to read books like "Murder Encyclopedia" and "Anatomy Diagrams". Anna Yamada, a popular girl in class, suddenly enters Ichikawa's quiet world!

They stuff their faces with rice balls and hum in the library. Then, they suddenly get closer...
Although Ichikawa was confused by Yamada's unpredictable words and actions, before he knew it, Yamada was filling his mind. Meanwhile, as Yamada talks with Ichikawa, she gradually becomes more curious about his presence.

For the first time, they discover the feeling of "love."
Overcoming their misunderstandings and awkward feelings, the distance between them slowly but surely closes.
