Gachiakuta Chapter 143 recap

The chapter, titled ‘Danger’, begins with the Twins holding two tiny dolls on their palms. Riyo introduces that they’re Otto and Epalte Adderoy from the Danger team of the Cleaners. Mymo teasingly says that the veteran Cleaners know exactly how powerful these two are. In a flashback, we see Rudo sitting beside Follo who seems to have passed out after training. He asks Zanka and Enjin what the Danger team is like, and both of them answer with the word ‘Solitary’. Enjin explains that while going out to treacherous places to fight Trash Beasts, it’s crucial for Cleaners to team up together to properly defend themselves.
However, for the members of team Danger, teamwork is something that weighs them down. Each of them have powers that don’t work well with other Cleaners and puts them in danger, hence the name. They’re the strongest Cleaners, but they’re also the lone wolves. Technically, the Twins aren’t solitary as they work with each other. But their power is simple yet devastating and you get exactly what you see. In the present, Rudo and Riyo look up as the Twins’ dolls become monstrous in size. Mymo comments that these Cleaners were meant to only fight Trash Beasts, where they don’t have to hold back. But when a Cleaner doesn’t hold back while fighting humans, he becomes a monster.

In the next panel, we see the massive dolls swinging their arms down to the ground, breaking it apart immediately. Rudo and Riyo fly off as the dolls keep destroying the entire gallery. Zanka and Enjin look at the scene worriedly. The Twins try new attack combos with the dolls, forcing the other Cleaners to retreat. Mymo says that the only way to stop them is to destroy their Vital Instruments. He tells Rudo to weaponise all the garbage around them. He tries to force Rudo to use his full power like he did in front of the Information Broker. Mymo wants to see it, and control it if possible. But Rudo says that he’ll never destroy anyone’s Vital Instrument. The weapon he needs is right there with him. As he says this, his shoe begins to change form. In the final panel, we see August hurrying off to somewhere.
Gachiakuta Chapter 143 review

As always, Kei Urana is impressive with his art. The panel where the Twins’ dolls grew bigger was insanely intimidating. The overall story has also picked up pace, with the characters being thrown into a full-on battle of strength against the sneaky Mymo who can control others with his power. While Zanka fights Gil, Rudo, Riyo, and Enjin will have to defeat the Twins somehow without injuring them gravely or destroying their Vital Instruments. They also have to be careful about not killing any of the festival attendees. With so many restrictions in place, it’s going to be hard for the Cleaners to emerge victorious. My guess is that August has designed a special shoe for Rudo to use in situations like this, and we’ll see its powers soon. It’s likely that August is trying to get more people to help the Cleaners out, which will make the battle even more interesting.
