Jiji and Evil Eye come up with a way to defeat Saint-Germain in Dandadan Chapter 205

Jiji explains how he can hit the villain’s ethereal body with his attack.

In the previous chapter of Yukinobu Tatsu’s Dandadan manga, we saw how Jiji unleashed a spiral attack that was able to hit Saint-Germain’s smoky body. In the recent issue, Jiji explains how Seiko taught him the best way to fight against enemies with no corporeal bodies. However, it seems that constantly switching between Jiji and Evil Eye to defeat Saint-Germain is too complicated, and there’s an easier way to do it.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Dandadan Chapter 205 recap

Jiji changes into Evil Eye before Germain's attack (Image: Shueisha/ Yukinobu Tatsu).

Jiji hits Saint-Germain with his spiral attacks despite the enemy having Enenra (Smoke Yokai) powers. Germain wonders how he did that, but deftly avoids the next attack and runs towards Jiji. Sensing the danger, Jiji quickly gives his body over to Evil Eye, who can survive the punch Germain throws at him. Evil Eye tries to kick him, but it goes through Germain’s smoke body. The two start fighting and Germain kicks the yokai away. Jiji quickly takes over the body and throws another spiral attack, which throws Germain away.

Germain asks how Jiji can hit him, and the boy answers that it’s because he has an awesome teacher named Miss Seiko. In a flashback, we see Seiko telling Jiji that much like the human body, their attacks also have different rotations. She explains that the loosening force is a left rotation while unleashing energy, while the containing force is a right rotation while storing energy. Against an enemy with a corporeal body, a left rotation attack will be enough, but for those with loose energy ethereal bodies like Germain, a right rotating attack will be perfect.

Seiko explains how the rotation power works (Image: Shueisha/ Yukinobu Tatsu).

Jiji tells Germain that his energy is loose while in his smoke-like state, which means the right rotating attack is effective on him. Germain doesn’t understand what he said, but he tries to land a kick on him instead, forcing him to change into Evil Eye in a split second. Germain figures out that he can’t fire his attack in his Evil Eye form. However, Jiji’s body can’t withstand Germain’s attacks, which means he constantly has to switch back and forth with impeccable timing. Germain starts to hit Evil Eye in close distance so he can’t change back into Jiji and attack him, because if he did, one hit from Germain will kill him.

Germain confidently says that Evil Eye and Jiji are both weaker than him. Just as he lands a kick on Evil Eye, a spiral attack and kick combo hits him. Germain is thrown into the distance. He looks at his opponent with a shocked face. In the final panel, we see that Jiji and Evil Eye have finally fused into one body just like Okarun and Turbo Granny. This means instead of switching the ownership of the body, they will be able to share it and use both of their powers at the same time.

Dandadan Chapter 205 review

Germain thinks he can defeat Evil Eye and Jiji (Image: Shueisha/ Yukinobu Tatsu).

The latest issue was one of the most hype recent chapters of the manga. Not only did Jiji come up with a legitimate way of defeating Germain, but he also fused with Evil Eye. This is a phenomenon that readers have been waiting for a long time. It would make him more powerful, which he definitely needs to as he is up against someone like Germain. Moreover, he might actually be able to defeat Saint-Germain and save Seiko now. Granted Momo and Vamola are also able to get rid of the ninjas, the group has a chance of making it back to the Temple in time to get the Uchide no Kozuchi hammer and perform the ritual to get Momo back to her original size.
