Keeping the ball away from Onazi puts Japan ahead of their opponents.
The Blue Lock players already understood Nigeria’s playing style in the previous chapter of the manga. In the recent update, we see the Japanese team actively keeping the ball away from Onazi, who is the one usually scoring goals for Nigeria. Thanks to their amazing adaptability, the Japanese team gets ahead, but it’s not their twin aces that score the first goal.

Blue Lock Chapter 314 Part 2 recap

Onazi catches up with Isagi as he gets the ball. But before he can get it back, Isagi calls him a one-trick pony as he’s become predictable. The protagonist explains that Onazi’s weapon is his ability to appear anywhere on the field using his superior mobility. The Nigerian team always passes to him in tough situations as they know he’ll be wherever they’ll need him. However, if Japan doesn’t let him touch the ball, his team can’t score.
Isagi passes the ball to Bachira and the Nigerian team realises that Blue Lock has already adapted to their playstyle. Starting with Isagi’s move, every change on offense and defense is to keep the ball away from Onazi. Isagi can quickly read a situation and immediately formulate a plan, while the brainiac midfielders Karasu and Reo fill in the gaps. Rin and Isagi both head towards the goal from the sides as Bachira runs up the middle.

A Nigerian player wonders which Bachira will pass to. But the player uses his incredible dribbling to pass the ball to himself in a forward-launching arc. Before the Nigerian defender can stop him, Bachira breaks through the penalty box and scores a phenomenal goal, putting Japan ahead of Nigeria. Isagi compliments Bachira, who says he’s gonna scatter his Ego all over the field.
Blue Lock Chapter 314 Part 2 review

Much like part 1 of the chapter, this issue of Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s manga was also pretty short. However, it was a perfect conclusion to the previous chapter’s setup. The Blue Lock team worked in perfect sync to score a goal. Bachira scoring proves that every player in the Blue Lock Japan team has the ability to score no matter which position they play. This is the exact opposite of Nigeria, who depend on one player for their goals. It seems that the first match of the U-20 World Cup will be a win for Japan.
