SANDA will premiere on 3 October.
The upcoming dystopian shonen anime SANDA just announced its latest cast member. It’s none other than Masako Nozawa, the legendary voice actress who gave the voice to Son Goku from Dragon Ball. Nozawa’s iconic voice as the anime’s protagonist lives in the minds of everyone who grew up watching the Dragon Ball series. Now she is set to bring a new kind of magic to SANDA, which will premiere on 3 October, 2025. SANDA will stream globally only on Prime Video.
SANDA new voice cast and other details
The official website and social media accounts of SANDA anime revealed that Masako Nozawa will be voicing the character Toyo Tetsudome, the 95-year-old school chairperson. You can hear Nozawa’s voice as Tetsudome in the short clip released on the series’ X (formerly Twitter) account.

The SANDA anime is based on the manga series of the same name by Paru Itagaki, who also created the popular manga turned anime Beastars. Prime Video will stream the SANDA anime outside of Japan and describes the story as:
In near-future Japan with ultra-low birthrates, children are treasured but monitored. Santa is banned as dangerous. One snowy December 25th, middle-schooler Kazushige Sanda, descendant of Santa, is attacked by classmate Fuyumura who wants him to find her missing friend, Ono. "Santa, please find my friend." To protect children from adults, Sanda decides to become Santa and fight the adults.
