The SSS trio saves a Miteran Elk from poachers, but Yor might be in danger from her own ally.
As per the Shopkeeper’s orders in the previous chapter of the manga, Yor, along with Hemlock and Matthew, enters the forest in the recent issue. After they find a Miteran Elk, the trio comes across a group of poachers trying to hunt it. Matthew lets one of the poachers live so he can find out their lair. Yor and Hemlock are tasked with taking the wounded Elk to a safe place, but things might not be as easy for the Thorn Princess.

The issue opens with the Thorn Princess Yor, Hemlock, and Matthew entering a forest together. Hemlock complains about a hawk sitting on his head and wants to kill it, but Matthew tells him that it’s his pet and there to assist them with scouting. While talking about pets, Yor reveals that her family has a dog named Bond, and he’s also quite smart. Hemlock says that domesticity has made her dull, but Yor counters by saying that she got married in the first place to continue working. Being married has strengthened her resolve to work and protect her family. Matthew says that he too, is married, and his wife is a civilian. While talking about marriage and physical affection, Matthew suddenly stops the car and reveals that they’ve reached the habitat of the Miteran Elk and will continue on foot from here on.
Yor discovers a gigantic flower and Matthew tells her to be careful as there are a lot of poisonous trees in the forest. Hemlock is happy to hear that they are allowed to kill all the poachers save for their leader. He wants to make a bet with Yor to see who can kill more, but she finds a broken deer antler on the ground. Matthew says it belongs to another species which sheds their antlers every year. However, the Miteran Elk doesn't, which makes its antlers a prized possession. They find footprints and decide to follow them and soon find a massive Miteran Elk. Hemlock saves it from falling into a poacher trap, agitating the animal in the process. Soon, they see a few poachers following the elk with guns. The trio easily takes them down with some impressively quick moves. However, Matthew lets one of them leave as he intends to follow him and find their lair.
Yor is thrown into the air by the elk, which doesn’t understand they’re here to protect it. Hemlock wants to kill the elk as it’s messing with their mission, but Yor says it’s his job to protect the animal. After Matthew’s order, Hemlock begrudgingly agrees to work with Yor and guide the wounded elk to the East River. But as Matthew leaves, Hemlock throws a weapon at Yor, which she barely dodges. When she asks what he’s doing, Hemlock says that he doesn’t allow obstruction to his work. He thinks of her as a hindrance, and nobody has told him that he can’t kill her. From the final panel, it seems that Hemlock is really hell-bent on killing Yor.
Spy x Family Chapter 116 review
I was really excited to see Yor back in action, but I never thought it’d come to be like this. Hemlock does harbour a deep-seated hatred for her for some reason. However, going so far as to threaten to kill her makes it seem there are some other issues. The chapter had some decent action when the group took down the poachers, but it seems that the main action is coming in the next chapters. I’m really excited to see Yor taking her arrogant co-worker down.
