Dandadan Season 2 is one of the most anticipated releases of the Summer 2025 season. After the massive success of its first season and the hype generated by the new trailers, fans can barely wait to see the anime on screen again. Ahead of its 3 July release, the official website and X (Formerly Twitter) account of the series announced the VAs for two new characters, Chiquitita and Manjiro.
Dandadan Season 2 new cast details
The new voice actors joining the cast are:
- Manjiro voiced by Hiroyuki Yoshino (Present Mic in My Hero Academia, Iwaizumi Hajime in Haikyu!!)
- Chiquitita voiced by Naomi Ōzora (Midori Kohakobe in Call of the Night, Tamamo Cross in Uma Musume Cinderella Gray)
Manjiro is a friend of Momo’s grandmother Seiko Ayase. He is a priest at the Tsuchinoko Shrine and wants to become a Bootuber. On the other hand, Chiquitita is the child of the Dover Demon, aka the Mantis Shrimp alien that we saw last season. The other voice cast members of the anime are:
- Momo Ayase voiced by Shion Wakayama
- Ken Takakura (Okarun) voiced by Natsuki Hanae
- Seiko Ayase voiced by Nana Mizuki
- Turbo Granny voiced by Mayumi Tanaka
- Aira Shiratori voiced by Ayane Sakura
- Jin Enjoji (Jiji) voiced by Kaito Ishikawa
Previously, the anime revealed its opening theme song in a new trailer. The trailer was also released in an English-dubbed version. It was also announced that an advanced screening event will be held on 29 June, at United Cinemas Toyosu. Several cast members will attend the event and talk to fans afterwards. The first season of the series, based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga, streams on Crunchyroll. The platform describes the story as:
This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescues Okarun from being bullied, they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.
To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?
