Amo proves her worth as Rudo’s friend and comrade.
The Gachiakuta manga is back after a week’s hiatus following mangaka Kei Urana’s announcement. The chapter showed us how Riyo and Zanka are going up against Mymo’s lackeys, Felix and Gil, respectively. On the other hand, Amo continues to control the crowd with her Watchman Series boots, stopping them from attacking the Cleaners. But Mymo has a final ace up his sleeve.

The issue begins with someone taking pictures of the Cleaners from atop the gallery. A person beside them says they didn’t expect them to be so scrawny. The one with the camera tells them not to underestimate the Cleaners as they deal with Trash Beasts everyday, even though not much is known about them. The person with the camera, who is likely a woman, says that they’re actually holding back since they want to retain their humanity and not take innocent lives. All except Riyo, who is seen poking at Felix’s shield in the next panel. She asks if the barrier is the only power he has since he’s not moving even when she’s so close to him.
She raises her massive pair of scissors with her feet and wonders how much she has to cut the pages before she breaks through.Mymo, who’s also inside the barrier with Felix says that the shield is Felix’s vital instrument Carta, and it’s ironclad. A Carta or a Letter is ‘Thought’ incarnate. The sender chooses the perfect stationary to write it, writes in it with their own hands, and carries to the post office to send it off while their heart is full of emotions. When that letter is from a loved one, its Thoughts are even more unshakable. Felix’s Carta, made up of these letters, are virtually indestructible. Riyo starts attacking the shield with her scissors and Mymo asks Rudo if he’s okay with her destroying something so meaningful.
Rudo tells Riyo to cut through the defender guy, but asks to leave Mymo for him. Mymo says that he’s as heartless as the rest of them. The chapter moves to the edge of the stadium, where Gil is running through the seats, hitting exploding balls towards Zanka with her bat as he chases her down. She says that although he wants to get close to her since she’s a ranged fighter, it will be hard because she’s really fast as well. Zanka throws his staff at her and Gil barely dodges it. He sits on the railing and points out that her bat can’t alternate everything that it hits. She says that her Vital Instrument, the bat named Gilermo, can only turn balls into breaking balls.
We then focus on Amo, who is sitting on Fu’s shoulders and ordering the festival attendees to not give up. Enjin thinks that it’s very weird, and Amo says that it’s love that’s giving people the power to fight back against Mymo. Hearing this, Mymo asks if she felt love from Rudo when he hit him back when he first met her. Even after taking a beating from Rudo, Amo now wants to help the Cleaners. Is it because she likes Rudo, or because he’s a replacement for her ‘Mister’ , the person who used to control and abuse her? He says that she was only trying to defend herself but the Cleaners beat her anyway, just to take control of her Watchman Series boots.
But Amo answers that she doesn’t mind because she and Rudo made up. Both of them did terrible things and apologised to each other. After only feeling cold touches all her life, Rudo was the first one to touch her with warm hands. Amo says that Rudo made her world bigger, and that’s why she will always stay with Rudo and learn about more scents from the outside world. But Mymo only smiles listening to her words and says that he will teach her how this world takes ignorant creatures that just got out of their cages, and gobbles them up. In the final panel, we see the Adderoy Brothers, known more popularly as the Twins, emerge as massive figures loom around them.
Gachiakuta Chapter 141 review
Although this issue was quite dialogue heavy, it felt like the perfect takeoff point for the next escalation that’s coming. Although the Twins work with the Cleaners, they seem to have fallen prey to Mymo’s powers since they were still wearing their chokers. These two were supposed to perform at the Doll Festival, which means we’ll see some more impressive summons in the upcoming chapter. It is likely that Amo, Rudo, and Enjin will team up to fight the Twins without actually hurting them. I’m hoping for more fast paced action between Zanka and Gil, who have taken their fight further away from the group.
