Amo experiences defeat again at the hand of Mymo.
The latest chapter of Kei Urana’s Gachialuta manga once again proved that Mymo is not a villain who can be taken lightly. He easily overrode Amo’s power due to her lack of experience. Moreover, he sent the Cleaners known as Twins after Rudo and Riyo, knowing full well they won’t be able to fight without destroying the siblings’ vital instruments.

Gachiakuta Chapter 142 recap

The issue begins with a flashback where we see Amo talking with Arkha Corvus, the leader of the Cleaners. He realises that Amo’s reason to want to join the Cleaners is to make amends and reform herself. She asks if her reason is too shallow compared to the other Cleaners. Arkha says that it’s not the case because many people are here just to have a place where they belong. He then says that Amo will have to take up a job. The girl answers that she’s not sure as she doesn’t like fighting. Arkha answers that fighting Trash Beasts is not the only way a Giver can contribute to their cause. He explains that her power allows her to recreate certain smells she has experienced through her shoes. Whoever smells it also recalls similar memories.
Amo reveals that she’s especially good at making people feel like they’re in love, as if they’re with someone they care about. Arkha says that a Healer will be a perfect job for her as she’s sensitive and can willingly absorb experiences. She can use her experiences and smells to comfort others. But in the present, as Amo is surrounded by a massive crowd of festival attendees, she feels her limited experience fails her. Mymo points out that despite having a powerful Vital Instrument, she doesn’t have the collection of scents to use it properly. She spent nearly a decade locked in a tower, and didn’t experience anything outside her bubble. On the other hand, Mymo has refined his words to fully control the masses. She has no hope of ever beating him.

Amo looks on helplessly as the crowd descends upon her following Mymo’s words. Rudo calls out to her, but Mymo stops him as well. He said he’s had enough of both him and Riyo. He calls upon the Puppeteer Twins and orders them to kill Riyo and Rudo. The massive puppets attack the two Cleaners. Mymo points out that if they want to defeat the Twins, they will have to destroy their Vital Instruments, which is their treasure. The scene moves to Enjin taking Amo and Fu safely outside the grounds and onto the gallery. Dejected, Amo asks if she can ever be the strong and empathetic Healer Arkha hoped she’d become. Remembering Mymo’s words, Amo asks if she’s useless. Enjin bluntly answers that she is.
He tells her to sit there like that and melt into a puddle of her own tears. That way, she will experience discouragement. When it gets too much, he tells her to stand up and prove how wrong he was for calling her useless. Then, she will have experienced vindication. Enjin leaves her there, and we see the Twins once again attacking Riyo and Rudo with their massive puppets. Rudo decides that he can never break a Vital Instrument, and the only way he can stop the Twins is by destroying their Chokers. Looking at them straight, Riyo smiles and says she forgot they were wearing Chokers, and that’s how Mymo can control them. The chapter ends with Mymo asking if they’re ready to neutralise their own friends.
Gachiakuta Chapter 142 review

The conversation between Arkha and Amo was an amazing inclusion. It proves how kind, forgiving, and intuitive he is. Although Enjin was crass with him, Amo needs to learn the lesson that despite being powerful, she severely lacks experience. Right now, she did a splendid job keeping the crowd at bay, but she’s still not strong enough to go head to head with someone like Mymo. On the other hand, I want to see how Rudo and Riyo bypass the Twins’ powers while they’re under Mymo’s control. They can’t destroy the siblings’ Vital Instruments as they’re also Cleaners. If they want to defeat Mymo, the only way is to destroy the Twins’ chokers and break through Felix’s shield. Hopefully, Enjin can help them with the matter.
