Muneyuki Kaneshiro is the creator of the Blue Lock manga, which is illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. The manga began back in 2018 and tells the story of an unconventional football training center aiming to train young players for the World Cup. It was adapted into an anime by Eight Bit in 2022, with the second season following in 2024. Kaneshiro and Kōta Sannomiya also created a spin-off manga titled Blue Lock: Episode Nagi in 2022, which was adapted into a movie in 2024.
Makoto Kimura worked at production company Twin Engine and also produced for Fuji TV's late-night anime programming block Noitanima. He joined MAPPA in 2018 and directed and produced multiple projects. He was one of the main people responsible for funding the Chainsaw Man anime and also produced exhibitions for Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. He left MAPPA in 2024, and established his own anime planning company Blue Rights within the same year.
