A total of 19 manga titles will be published in the magazine.
On Tuesday, 15 July, 2025, Kodansha revealed some more details about the upcoming release of the United States print of their Weekly Young Magazine. The special edition magazine is being released to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the magazine, and will include a total of 19 new manga series from various Japanese artists. Ghost in the Shell creator Masamune Shirow designed the cover for the special edition.
The Weekly Young Magazine special issue is coming out next month

Kodansha revealed that the special US edition of the magazine will have a total of 1,044 pages. It will introduce 19 new manga series, moreover, 16 of these series will be voted on by the readers, with winners to be serialised on the KManga platform. Unfortunately, Kodansha hasn’t mentioned if this special edition will be the only issue published in the US or if there is more to come.
The 16 manga titles that readers can vote on are:
- Kaito Gaku's BOYS RUN THE RIOT - IN TRANSITION -
- Ouga's Fasciation
- Rin Shimokawa's Godmother
- Hiroki Ishizawa's GOUMA The Blade that Slaughters Gods
- Anri Morikuma's Into the Dark
- Hikari Azuma's Is My Love Strange?
- Kyūri Yamada's KIKIKAIKAI
- Denchi Matsumoto, Keita Nishijima's Pregnant
- Yukito Iwai's PROJECT METALLIA
- Daisaku Tsuru's Protocol Ryugu
- Kami Nishio's Still You
- Yoshimi Sato's The Graveyard Shift
- Daisuke Itabashi's The Journey of a Dark Elf with Fading Powers
- Ray Kindo's The Knight of Blasphemy
- Hiroshi Takashige, Tatsumi Hitomoji's THE LAST TERRAN
- Robico's To Dusk and Twilight
The four other titles (three new) included in the edition will be:
- Shūzō Oshimi's ME AND BOB DYLAN (AND MY FATHER)
- Masaaki Nakayama's The Silent Forest
- Shūichi Shigeno's Subaru and Subaru
- Kengo Hanazawa's UNDER NINJA
Kodansha says that their plan is to release unfiltered manga for adults in this special issue. The main goal is to introduce the US audience to more mature genres such as seinen and josei. Fans who attend the Anime NYC convention from 21-24 August can collect the special issue of the magazine for free. It will also be available in 17 Kikokuniya bookstores from 21 August to 10 November.
