The beloved new-age shojo manga Firefly Wedding is unfortunately coming to an end soon. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Manga ONE app revealed that the final arc of the romance series will begin on 20 October, 2025. Although we don’t know exactly how many chapters there will be in the final arc, it seems the manga is heading towards its climax.
Firefly Wedding manga’s final arc begins next week
As per the latest news from Manga ONE, the Firefly Wedding manga’s Satoko Retrieval arc has been concluded. The next arc will be the finale of the series. However, we don’t know any details about the upcoming arc’s story. With only a little time left for the two protagonists Satoko and Shinpei, the readers are excited to see what happens next.
The Firefly Wedding manga, created by Oreco Tachibana, began publishing on Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday manga website and MangaONE app back in January 2023. The series has garnered a large fan following in the two years since its first chapter came out. The manga was nominated for Kodansha's 48th annual Manga Awards in 2024 in the Shojo Manga category. You can read the English version of the series on Comikey, while Viz Media publishes the physical copies of the manga in English.
The story is described as:
On the surface, Satoko has it all—she’s beautiful, the daughter of a nobleman, and at a prime age for marriage. Unfortunately, she is also quite ill and only has a short time left to live. Before she can secure a marriage that will redeem her worth in her family’s eyes, she finds herself the target of the mysterious assassin Shinpei, and her plans are put in jeopardy. In order to save herself, she makes a desperate proposal—of marriage! When it comes to love, however, Shinpei takes “until death do we part” seriously.
