BET: Netflix’s English live-action adaptation of Kakegurui receives new cast updates

Eight actors have been cast in several roles in the show.

After receiving an anime and a Japanese live-action adaptation, Homura Kawamoto’s manga Kakegurui is set for an English adaptation. Netflix has just announced the main actors who will be starring in the series, which is called BET. Although we don’t have a trailer or visual for the series yet, it is speculated to air on the platform this year. Simon Barry, known for his work on Warrior Nun, Van Helsing, and Ghost Wars, is the showrunner of BET.

The post on the official Netflix Anime X (formerly Twitter) account revealed eight actors who will be taking the front stage in this live-action series. This includes:

  • Miku Martineau
  • Ayo Solanke
  • Eve Edwards
  • Clara Alexandrova
  • Hunter Cardinal
  • Anwen O'Driscoll
  • Aviva Mongillo
  • Ryan Sutherland

Unfortunately, not many other details have been revealed on the project as of right now, and we don’t know which characters each of these actors will be playing. The Kakegurui manga, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Tōru Naomura, started publishing in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker magazine in 2014.

The story takes place in an elite boarding school where students partake in high-stakes gambling games. The arrival of transfer student Yumeko Jabami changes the dynamics of the school completely. The manga has an anime adaptation by MAPPA, which you can watch on Netflix.
