Dandadan Chapter 201 recap

The issue begins with Okarun, Kinta, Rin, and Kouki all eating instant noodles and other snacks together in Queen sensei’s office. Rin shows Kouki how to eat these things and Okarun wonders if the nurse will be mad at them. Manjiro assures him that Queen sensei gave them permission to eat and rest however much they want.
Okarun asks if Manjiro knows the nurse and he reveals that one time, Queen sensei came to him to get a student exorcised. After that, he warns Okarun that they’re in dire straits now. Someone is out there trying to steal Yokai abilities with Kozuka knives. Although the Guild of Exorcists is investigating the matter, they need to be extremely careful.
However, since Momo and Seiko were attacked as well, it means they’re not just after Yokai powers. Not only do they collect the powers through the agents, but also let the agents use them. However, they don’t know the enemy’s other objectives yet. Okarun asks Manjiro what’s in the package Seiko left for him. Manjiro says it’s a weapon for self defense.
However, when he opens the box, he only finds a tiny stick inside. But Manjiro says that it’s a proper weapon called an Ogre club, which might be the mythical Kanabo weapon from Japanese lore. Although he doesn’t know how to use the weapon, Manjiro will help train Okarun so he can protect himself and his friends.

Elsewhere, Momo looks out the window of a car thinking of Okarun and wondering if he will tell her he loves her again when she returns back to normal. Evil Eye asks for more snacks and they start bickering. Soon, they reach the Izumo Taisha shrine in Shimane where the magical hammer is. Seiko greets the temple manager, but the man states that they’re in a dire state of emergency as the hammer, called Uchide no Kozuki, has been stolen.
Leaving Zuma, Raiya, and Daiki behind because there’s no space in the cab, the rest of them leave to find the thief. The temple priest reveals that there’s a phantom Ninja Thief who has been stealing National Treasures from shrines and temples. However, they put a tracker on the hammer. In the final panel, we see an intimidating temple where the thief is likely hiding.
Dandadan Chapter 201 review

There is something incredibly wholesome about seeing everyone sharing a meal despite the dangers looming over their head. I especially loved Rin and Kouki’s sweet growing friendship. Although I was hoping for some blades, the Ogre Club might be a great fit for Okarun, who has a lot of strength even after losing his Yokaai powers. In my opinion, if he can unlock his inner spiritual powers like Jiji, he will be able to channel it through the club and use it as a formidable weapon in battle. On the other hand, I’m excited about Momo and Seiko’s group potentially fighting another character with special powers (probably?).
However, it seems that Zuma, Raiya, and Daiki might be in some trouble.
