The sequel of the legendary manga announces its return in 2025 after a long hiatus.

Dragon Ball Super announced its manga return in February 2025 at its Jump Festa '25 panel. The manga was put on hold after the passing of its original creator, Akira Toriyama. The manga will feature a one-shot in the February 2025 edition of V-Jump, a subsidiary manga magazine based on Shueisha's popular series.

This marked the first time the manga had made such an announcement, following the decision to continue the series after Akira Toriyama's sudden passing. The one-shot will feature the pairing of Goten and Trunks in their teenage years. However, further details weren't revealed besides the introduction of a new superhero-looking character in front of Goten and Trunks.

While the unveiling of another one-shot is excellent news for Dragon Ball's future, no announcement was made during the panel regarding the continuation of its monthly release.

Besides the announcement of the Dragon Ball Super one-shot, the panel also showed the new villain of Dragon Ball DAIMA, Majin Kuu and Doo. The two Majin incarnate, just like Buu, will be Goku and his team's enemies in the anime.

The last announcement from the Dragon Ball panel revealed the release of a new box set with covers drawn by various manga artists, such as Eiichiro Oda of One Piece and Yusuke Murata of One Punch Man.
